Rapper Tory Lanez has been charged with shooting Megan Thee Stallion earlier this year in the Hollywood Hills, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, faces one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm.
On July 12, Lanez allegedly got into an argument with Megan while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. When Megan exited, Lanez allegedly squeezed off several shots at her feet, wounding her, officials said.
The “WAP” rapper, 25, publicly accused Lanez of shooting her on Instagram in August.
If convicted, he faces up to 22 years in prison.
